Carbon-X: Hugging Face's open model for 'chatting with DNA'
Hugging Face released Carbon-X, an open-source model built on Qwen3-14B trained on genomic sequences and natural language, developed with research labs in Italy and China. Scientists can ask questions about DNA — e.g. whether a mutation could increase disease risk — and generate new DNA sequences for gene-therapy research.
