GVS5H: five orchestrated Qwen3.8-27B models match Claude Fable 5 on LiveCodeBench Hard
Persis Capital's GVS5H is a ledger-based, zero-shot self-orchestration method: five fresh instances of one model decompose a problem and coordinate through a shared filesystem holding a plan, notes and the current solution. Locally served open-weight Qwen3.8-27B rises from 66.8% to 92.4% pass@1 on the 100 latest hard LiveCodeBench problems, edging Claude Fable 5's 90.4% — with no extra training.
Why it matters
Frontier-level coding accuracy from inference-time organization, not bigger weights: the same 27B weights, reorganized across five roles, beat a frontier model at a fraction of the cost — and the harness runs on a single GPU.

Does it hold up?
Promising but unproven outside benchmarks: the 92.4% LiveCodeBench-Hard result comes from the authors' own harness, the authors admit gains are not universal across models, and no independent production deployments have surfaced yet.
