Kerno 1.0: AI runtime backend QA engineer
Kerno's v1 launch (Oct 15) turns it into a full AI backend QA engineer: it maps your codebase, runs your app against its real stack, and tests user flows, security, background jobs, queues, MCP servers, and AWS serverless, inside the agent's session.
Why it matters
Catches the runtime bugs that only appear when code actually executes - against real databases and queues, not mocks - and feeds failures back to the coding agent in the same session, before a PR is even opened.
What you could build with it
A small backend team using Claude Code or Cursor could connect Kerno over MCP so every agent-written change gets exercised against the real local stack first, catching broken auth flows and queue bugs in-session instead of in CI hours later.
Does it hold up?
Too early to judge: v1 launched today; only launch-day reviews exist. Claims of 35% fewer breaking backend changes come from the vendor, not independent users.
