NVIDIA Ising: open models for quantum computing
Open model family for quantum computing announced at GTC Berlin Oct 21: a common, extensible foundation spanning real-time hardware calibration through error correction across qubit modalities. IQM Quantum Computers is using Ising to calibrate its processors; SEEQC pairs it with NVQLink for real-time error correction; AWS is integrating the family into its Parallel Computing Service. Why it matters
First open foundation for quantum work that treats calibration and error correction as modeling problems: specialized open models reportedly outperform large general-purpose models on calibration, running on classical hardware colocated with the quantum processor for latency.
