OpenBot: local-first desktop workspace where a team of AI agents works together
nightly-labs/openbot, a local-first desktop workspace for persistent AI teammates, is trending again on GitHub, up about 800 stars in a day to roughly 2,900, and finished #2 Product of the Day on Product Hunt in October. Each agent gets its own workspace, conversation, queue, and instructions, agents message each other, hand off tasks, and share files, and the app runs Codex, Claude Code, and Grok plus OpenCode, Gemini, Cursor, and Cline CLIs through ACP, reusing the subscriptions already on the machine.
Why it matters
What you could build with it
Does it hold up?
Usable with a clear warning: the app is real, cross-platform, and PH-validated, but its README calls it a development preview where agents run with danger-full-access, and the PolyForm Noncommercial licence means commercial use needs separate terms.
