SAP RPT-2.0: tabular foundation model adds anomaly detection, plus an ISS edge deployment
SAP announced SAP-RPT-2.0 at TechEd on 27 Oct 2026, extending its tabular foundation model beyond classification and regression to anomaly and outlier detection and embedding-based analysis over multi-table data, alongside SAP-RPT-TS for time-indexed forecasting. SAP-RPT is also being deployed on HPE Spaceborne Computer-2 aboard the International Space Station to triage telemetry anomalies and reconstruct missing sensor values without sending data back to Earth.
Why it matters
Tabular AI validated at the hardest edge: the same model that flags supplier and cash-flow anomalies runs onboard the ISS, reconstructing missing sensor values under radiation, power, and connectivity constraints.
What you could build with it
An operations team at a manufacturer could run RPT-2.0 over multi-table maintenance and supplier records to flag anomalous equipment readings and supplier risk early, without building a custom machine-learning model for each table.
Does it hold up?
Too early to judge: announced today for SAP Business Data Cloud customers, with no public benchmarks or independent deployments yet beyond the planned ISS validation.
