Wabi 2.0: Replika founder's multiplayer AI assistant goes public
Eugenia Kuyda, founder of Replika, launched Wabi for all users on Oct 19: a multiplayer personal AI assistant inside a messenger app. Users keep separate agentic threads for different tasks and long-term goals, the agent auto-builds custom mini-apps inside each thread, and threads can be shared as group chats. Free, with iOS, Android and Mac apps.
Why it matters
Multiplayer by design: shared agent threads for families and teams instead of one degrading solo thread, plus the agent builds personal apps automatically rather than asking users to build them.

An indie developer could adopt Wabi's thread-scoped app pattern to build a family coordination product: one shared assistant where a school-calendar thread carries its own permissioned mini-apps (lunch menus, pickup rosters) kept separate from parents' work threads.

Too early to judge: public launch was Oct 19 after an invite-only period; real-world reports on the reliability of its auto-built apps are not in yet.
