Craft Anything: open-source Rust engine that studies any app and has a coding agent rebuild it
An early-alpha Rust engine with 284 inspection tools that studies a website, desktop app, mobile app, or game, then drives a coding agent (Claude Code first) through a Study, Build, Check, Refine loop to produce a fresh version, with a Clean room mode that works only from what a visitor can see and never bypasses DRM or logins.
Why it matters
It packages the viral reverse-engineer-and-rebuild workflow into one engine — inspection tools, CLI, MCP server, and GUI — instead of a loose collection of disassemblers, and it answers the legality question in the product with its Clean room mode.
What you could build with it
A software-migration consultancy could point Craft Anything at a client's legacy desktop tool to produce a working modern rebuild as a starting point, then have engineers refine the generated code instead of rewriting from a blank spec.
Does it hold up?
Early but runnable: v0.3.0 ships prebuilt packages and the engine covers many formats, but the project itself says agent integrations and behavior checks are incomplete and only partly validated.
