ldraw-nova — open-source Lego AI generator
Open-source agent tooling that lets frontier LLMs design buildable LEGO models as LDraw CAD files, with headless rendering for iterative self-correction.
Why it matters
Instead of making agents do hard geometry math, the agent writes a generator script that produces the math — an agent-authored compiler for 3D brick models.
What you could build with it
A toy-design team or indie developer could offer on-demand custom LEGO sets: customers describe a model, the agent pipeline generates the LDraw files and parts list, and the result is a personalized building kit sold with printable instructions.
Does it hold up?
The author calls it a first release with known rough edges: generation is slow and expensive, only high-end models (GPT-6 Astra, Claude Opus 5.5) produce correct large models, VR performance has issues, and spaceships are not very good. HN interest is strong but no independent third-party build reports yet.
