OpenBot: self-hosted AI coworkers, each with its own computer and audit trail
CopilotKit's MIT-licensed alpha gives each AI coworker its own container with a browser, files and logins, behind a fail-closed gateway that decides and records every action before it runs. Any AG-UI agent — LangGraph, CrewAI, Mastra, Pydantic AI, Google ADK or a hand-written server — can be registered as a coworker.
Why it matters
Brings the Grok Bot shape (a persistent computer with real logins) in-house with governance: an audit trail, CEL policies and human takeover, instead of renting a hosted agent.

A small operations team could deploy OpenBot to run a back-office coworker that processes supplier emails and updates spreadsheets in its own browser, with every action logged for audit and a human taking over whenever a payment step appears.

Usable as an alpha today via Docker Compose on a laptop, but independent writeups flag default no-auth and policy holes — treat it as a governed pilot, not production.
